Folkulture's scalloped coir door mat brings a soft, decorative edge to a hardworking entryway staple. The rounded scallop border frames a classic welcome design, giving your front door a finished look whether your style leans farmhouse, coastal, cottage, or modern minimal. The mat is made from coir, the coarse natural fiber spun from coconut husks. Coir has been used for entry matting for generations because it does something synthetic fibers struggle with: the stiff bristles physically scrape mud, grit, sand, and salt off shoe treads rather than just wiping the surface. The 1 cm pile also absorbs rain and snowmelt, so water stays at the door instead of on your floors. At 16 x 28 inches, this rectangular mat suits a standard single entry door and sits low enough to clear most door swings. Use it outside on a porch, patio, deck, or apartment landing, or place it just inside as an indoor entryway mat. A textured latex backing grips tile, sealed concrete, hardwood, and decking so the mat holds its position rather than sliding when someone wipes their feet. Care is simple. Shake the mat out or sweep it with a stiff broom to release trapped debris, and vacuum with a handheld unit for a deeper clean. Placing the mat under an overhang or covered porch will protect the fiber and coloring from prolonged direct sun and standing water, extending its life through repeated seasons of use.
